AOTECH is a spin-off of the Applied Photonics Group, University of the Basque Country, founded to achieve more efficient and sustainable production by applying photonic solutions to industrial processes.
The AONIR platform consists of NIR spectroscopy-based optical sensors which installed in the production line, can send data relating to the product’s chemical composition or moisture in real time to our IoT platform, designed for storage, visualisation and generation of alarms and reports related to products quality, providing quick decisions to prevent the final product from being out of specification, thus reducing waste. This system can also monitor the production process, e.g., the fermentation process in bread production, contributing to significant energy savings.
Moreover, this system can apply spectroscopy to monitor chemical reactions, as well as the real-time determination of the most significant components of chemical baths, such as the concentrations of nickel and copper.
